4th June 1944 - Marks the 72nd Anniversary of the Liberation of Rome

11th June 2016 Trooping the Colour, Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall. HM Queen Elizabeth takes the salute to mark her official birthday. This year the colour will be trooped by No 7 The Coldstream Guards.

30th June 2016 Somme 1914 Centenary Vigil commences at Westminster Abbey with rotations every 30 th minutes.

Imperial War Museum will hold overnight events please see their website for details

Thiepval Memorial, France Overnight Vigils commence from 11.pm. with 20 minute rotations

Military personal will be present.

8th to 10th July Royal International Air Show RAF Fairford. The world's greatest military air show.

9th July Flying Legends IMW Duxford Cambridgeshire. Unique presentation of historic piston engine aircraft and remarkable flying displays. A good opportunity to view the recently opened USAF Museum as a tribute to many US Service personnel who flew bombing raids from their bases in and around Cambridgeshire and Suffolk.

10th November - FIELD OF REMEMBRANCE opens at St. Margaret's Westminster Abbey - The very first Field of Remembrance was held in the Grounds of Westminster Abbey in November 1928.
The Poppy Factory took a small group of First World War disabled veterans together with a collecting tin and a tray of poppies to the grounds of St Margaret's Church in Westminster. A handful of poppies were planted around a single cross and since then the Field of Remembrance has become an annual event attended by veterans, their families and veterans and Regimental Associations from all over the world

11th November 2016 Armistice Day, everyone is encouraged to stand in silence for two minutes at precisely 11.am.


SUNDAY 13th November
- Remembrance Sunday. HM Queen Elizabeth leads the proceedings at the Cenotaph, Whitehall followed by the Veterans' Parade.
You are advised to arrive early if you want a good spot to watch this Solomon Act of Remembrance commemorating the dead from both World Wars and Others.
